Pilates

Pilates emphasises the use of core muscles in your body.  With key principles being body awareness, control, precision of movement, breathing control and continued flow of movement.

Classes held by a chartered physiotherapist who holds training by the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute), will ensure you can be at ease throughout your session in the knowledge that it can be tailored to your individual needs especially if you suffer from any aches or pains.

Mind – body and overall health can all benefit from Pilates .

The body becomes stronger, posture is improved throughout, allowing for less stress on joints and more efficient movements with less risk of injury and pains.

Concentration when carrying out pilates is key, to ensure optimal movement.  With this concentration comes relaxation of other thoughts, engaging you in the moment.  Pilates will become a lifestyle change, with the mind-body connection staying with you through your everyday life.

Sessions can be on a 1-2-1 basis or through classes.  They can be used for the sporting population for injury prevention and rehabilitation, or better core stability. In pregnancy for pre and post natal mums to exercise in a safe environment for pelvic floor strengthening during pregnancy and to help heal and regain strength and stability following birth. For people of genuinely ALL ages and abilities you will be sure to find benefit in Pilates.
